HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

SPREAD THE LOVE...!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! What a wonderful day! We had almost 50 degree weather and plenty of sunshine. I spent the day with the ladies of my family and then we went to see my Uncle in the hospital again.
Happy Happy Joy Joy! I hope everyone has found a little bit of a loving feeling today!

Riding out to Cheat Lake where my Aunt Lives!

I GOT ORGANIZATION CRAZY THIS MORNING...

Mom had to take Gran to a dr's appointment this morning and I was all alone in the kitchen. I started reorganizing drawers and cabinets.

Fun! Categorizing everything and putting things in places that are easier to reach!

I GOT A VALENTINE...I ACTUALLY GOT 2!

UPS rolled up and dropped a box at my Uncle's house, my Mom went and discovered that it was actually for me! JC had sent me a little package...

He sent me some awesome magazines that I love-Make, Travel mag, Poets&Writers and Somerset Studios which is one of my absolute favorites! And he gave me a cute little Winnie the Pooh card with it. Thanks +Jc Barb!

My aunt surprised me with this big red puppy and a really sweet card! I've decided to call him Big Red!

NEED A DINNER IDEA?

I fixed dinner today for our trip over to my Aunt's house today

Valentine's day dinner--I made a little pasta dish that me and +Melanie Hutchins created back in the day when we were broke college kids but it's so tasty that I always make it.

Cheap and easy but tasty!

Chicken breast
Broccoli frozen or fresh-whichever you have or which is cheaper
Bottle of Italian dressing
Parmesan cheese
Spaghetti or Linguine
salt pepper garlic oregano to taste

You dice up your chicken and season to taste--pour about half of the dressing over the chicken and leave it in a bowl while you dice up the broccoli. Boil your pasta. Brown your chicken in a skillet. Once your pasta is almost finished add in the broccoli. Then drain it all and add it to the chicken. Add more dressing and then heavily sprinkle it with Parmesan cheese and taste it so see if it needs more dressing or more salt and pepper. Stir it all together and serve with bread and a salad!

Happy eating!

CANCER CUTIE OUTFIT OF THE DAY 2-14-13

Valentine's Day look was a dress from forever ago, but I wore it with black leggings, and high slouchy black boots. Then I threw a black cardigan over it. I accented everything with a long hot pink scarf and a matching flower to accent the long wig. I rocked glasses because I just like that look with this for some reason.
I did my makeup today! I used some pink accents to match my color scheme,

Me and Big Red!

LOND DAY AT THE HOSPITAL...

10:30-4:00PM AT WVU HOSPITALS!!

Well today was follow up day at the hospital. I had to go in for Lab work first and my Port--a little implant they have in my chest for them to draw blood and for them to put in IVs--wouldn't draw blood again. We have trouble with it all the time, so they had to just take blood out of my arm today. I guess they are gonna do so injection to it next week. I had it one time before too.

Then we went to meet with Dr. Monga for follow up on my chemo and how I'm doing. I've been pretty good as you guys can see. I did have a lil incident yesterday, I think I bent over too fast when I dropped something and it caused some pain in my back that was making it hard for me to bend over. So they sent me up for XRays to make sure nothing was fractured. They gave me more pain meds and some mouthwash for thrush, which I apparently have a little bit of again. They'll look at the Xrays and see if I need anything else. There was good news.

My blood was good-white and red count. Platelets a little bit low, but nothing to worry about.
Tumor markers have already seen a decline after the first chemo session.
I'm still not feeling much of any side effects from the chemo!

Thank GOD all mighty--I am blessed--I have already claimed my healing.!

They gave me another B-12 shot and made me late for my next appointment, but they called down for me.

So I met with Dr Jacobson from Radioation and because my cancer is all breast tissue, her part is really done and she said she'd just like to see me one more time. So I'll have a follow up with her in August.

NOT LEAVING YET....
We then head over to the 8th floor to visit my Uncle Jeffery who was admitted last night. We dropped my Grandmother off there before we went to my appointments so she had been sitting there since about 10!
He was feeling pretty miserable and man oh man is he a big old complainer! I was starving, so me and Gran went and grabbed some food from the cafeteria. I grabbed a cheeseburger and some veggies--plus a pepperoni roll and chips. We also took pepperoni roll and chips up to my Mom. When we we got upstairs, Uncle Jeff had been cleared for a liquid diet because they weren't doing a scope anymore. His pain pills and his nausea meds had kicked in. He was sitting on the side of the bed and talking up a storm. He was doing so much better so more BLESSINGS!

Mom was supposed to take a picture not a video but I shared it anyway!

CANCER CUTIE OUTFIT OF THE DAY 2-13-13

Peace and Love! So I wore my Gabe's discount outfit! I had on the teal pants, the orange tank with a yellow V-neck sweater over it. Then of course I had the scarf that tied  all the colors together. I had the afro with a head band pulling in the light teal color and to top it all off, I had on this cream sweater with the fringe. I threw on sone shades that were hiding in my purse! So I was a total hippie today!!

Peace and Love! I had simple make-up today, since my outfit was so crazy! I actually received a few compliments today! So everyone needed a little bit of hippie love in their lives today!

 STILL NOT HOME YET...

Had to fill my prescriptions and grabbed a couple of essentials while we were in Walmart. I also got a cute little pj outfit on clearance. Cookie monster sleep pants and a lil black hoodie. We were in a rush because it was looking like we were in a snowglobe..

Freezing rain with snow!

My video attempt--just us riding in the lovely weather!

FINALLY HOME...

Put away groceries
Checked my mail
Took a nap
Ate some dinner
Talked to my Brother
Wrote this Blog and about to just relax with the tv and some frozen yogurt!

I did do some art today. I made Uncle Jeff  a get well card while we were waiting for the Drs. I didn't think to take a picture! Duh!

TAME TUESDAY 2/12/13

PRODUCTIVE START TO THE DAY!

Today I had a list of things that I wanted to accomplish and I did all of them!

  • Laundry
  • Changing out my bedsheets and cleaning my room
That was a bit of a process. My Mom helped of course, but I made sure to participate so that I could get some exercise, which they say that I need at least 30 minutes a days.

In the scary unfinished basement....

Folding fun!

Crisp white linens look great with the green Granny already had in the room!

CANCER CUTIE OUTFIT OF THE DAY 2-12-13!

Once again, I'm paying tribute to Mr. President Obama, since the State of the Union Address is coming on right now actually. Rocking the longer straight wig and my glasses and I did really simple make up. Just a lil mascara and liner and defined my brows and a lil blush. Just to give my face some definition.

I'm wearing, my new jeans from yesterday--pants that fit!!! Yeah. A white tank, my Obama t-shirt I bought from this past campaign and my red cardigan with a red beanie and I wore my black booty slipper things with some socks. They are like shoes, but lined like slippers so they are comfy still and practical to run outside in still because the bottoms have good tread.

THE LIST CONTINUES....

  • Finish an Art Journal Page
  • Work on more Etsy stuff
So I finished that too! I started one last night and worked with it today until I got it finished to my liking and added it to the book. I worked on another piece, but my Mom was also working on some pieces and they look pretty darn good. I haven't finished my yet.

So this was the layout I started last night in full color. I added a little pocket to it with a tag. It's all about seeking God's favor and trusting that he will bring you all of your dreams! Your fantasy life can be a reality if you trust in and Believe in God. Seek Him and Enlarge Your Vision because you can do All things Through Christ.

So you've got the little tag from the Pocket that says Dream Big! Keeping it Interactive!! Ha!Ha! Ha!

Through God's Power you can have, be, do and live your life abundantly in his favor. It will feel like a fantasy!

These are the pieces that my Mom made. She's the real artist. That's where I got my creativity from. She used to win awards and whatnot when she was younger. She's always painting something around the house or making something. She's very creative! I love the way the colors came out on this. She made these out of foam tissue paper and watercolor paints. It has a very relaxing feel too it doesn't it?

WHAT ELSE WAS ON THE LIST?

  • Redo Mom's Hair
That gray is popping! We did a wash and deep condition.

So we attempted a wash and go for her teeny weeny afro--TWA. I hadn't done this look in forever being that my hair hadn't been that short in so long. I just did our usual moisturizing and then saturated the hair with water and gel raking it through to define the curls. I added the clips to give it a lil bit of a part.

Just gotta wait for it to dry and then the curls will pop!

WELL WISHES...

Just found out a little bit of unfortunate news this evening. My uncle hasn't been feeling too well and he has a some kind of pancreatic problem. He's being admitted to the hospital tonight. I'll go see him to tomorrow after I finish with my 3 appointments tomorrow. (Labwork and two follow ups). I know that you all have been praying for me and sending will wishes and I am so thankful for that and I always ask God to send those well wishes and blessings right back to you! But if I could ask that you send up a lil something for my Uncle Jeffrey when you're sending mine, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

THE SUN, NO SNOW ANYWHERE AND 60 DEGREES!

We had a gorgeous day today! It was so sunny out and all the snow has melted away and it actually hit a high of 63 degrees today! Awesomeness! I told Mom that we had to get out and about today since it was such a nice day! You're going to get a treat--I had a Gabriel Brothers trip!!!!

So as you can see the sun came out and the snow was all gone. This was just a couple of pictures along the way.

CANCER CUTIE OUTFIT OF THE DAY 2-11-13

So today I went with a bright look. The citrus lime and gray was my color palette for today. I had dark skinny jeans with a white tank and a white three quarter t shirt and then I threw on the bright tank and a gray cardigan. Then I busted out my fro-wig with the matching beanie cap! I have silver flats to match the cardigan and my silver purse. I kept the makeup pretty simple,  but I did add a little bit of the lemony shade on my lids, but not enough to make a dramatic difference.

RETAIL THERAPY...WELCOME TO GABRIEL BROTHERS

If you've known me for a long time, then you have heard of Gabriel brothers. This is like Ross, TJ Maxx type of store, but it was actually founded here in WV--in Morgantown actually. It's actually cheaper than Ross and TJ Maxx a lot of times and it has more of a warehouse feel than a retail shop. You really gotta dig through the racks, but you can find stuff for super cheap--maybe because it was sized wrong, colored wrong, there was overstock, the zipper's broke or just whatever--nothing might be wrong. They also carry designer stuff for super cheap too. I saw a Kenneth Cole coat heavy cape coat in a purple magenta color for $30! But that gives you an idea of what to expect.
Dressing room fun!
The haul!
Not been a fan of the colored jeans, but they had like 3 clearance racks of them and I really needed some new pants--they're all too lose without a belt. I had already picked up the scarf to use as a head wrap and so I added the orange tank! That was a whole outfit --$12 before tax. There's a little toboggan style hat in brown that I picked up for $3!

More goodies--I got the black slipper shoes--they have real tread on the bottom but the inside is lined just like a pair of comfy slippers--$3! I have another pair from Target, but those were like $6 on clearance. I also grabbed a headband for $2 and the yellow cap was also $3. I then found a pair of dark jeans that fit without a belt and were just what I needed--$7!
You really have to love the little orange clearance tags--I bought a pair of pants for $3!!!!

 TOTAL TALLY:

Colored denim   $3
Orange Tank   $4
Multicolor scarf   $5
Brown hat   $3
Dark Jeans  $7
Black Slipper boots  $3
Light blue headband $2
Yellow peace hat  $3

$30.00 before tax!

They sell everything so I also picked up some stickers, snack food, candy and I also got three pairs of undies for $5!

I hope you enjoyed the Gabes experience and who knows it maybe coming to you soon! I heard that the company has actually been purchased by TJMaxx--which is why they have made some changes to the layout of the place, but we shall see. As of right now they are located in our area--WV, MD, OH, PA, VA and KY.

ART JOURNAL PAGE IS STARTED...

So this is my most recent art journal. I just started it last night, but it's all based off of  a page from one of Joel Osteen's lil inspirational books about living in God's favor and speaking your dreams into existence. I will be working on it some more tomorrow probably. I may start a new one tonight.

SUNNY SUNDAY FINALLY!

THE WEATHER WARMED UP!

Today the sun finally decided to come out! It warmed up to 54 degrees today! WOO HOO! I was loving that so we actually went outside and sat in the sunshine for a little bit today!

CAUGHT UP WITH SNOW STORM SURVIVOR TODAY!

Started my morning off with a lil catch up session with Gerald! He's in NY and he was dealing with the snow.Being a Georgia boy, snow like that I'm sure is nothing he's ever seen! And it was kinda ironic, because he was asking how much we got, and we didn't get any! We had a beautiful day today!

 Hartford, Conn.

Picture of Jersey City where he lives from the Weather Channel. He said that he was so surprised that they were so prepared and he was able to get out and out still. Welcome to life up north! I'm still getting used to it all over again, too! We'll brave the cold northern winters!

Cancer Cutie Outfit of the Day 2-10-13

We kept it simple today. A white tank top, with a navy blue collared shirt, some light jeans and silver accents, and later I put on a little gray cardigan over it. I wore the wig I pull over to a ponytail. I think it needed some finessing, but I threw that little silver headband on from yesterday.

I keep the makeup simple today too. It's Sunday! I didn't have anywhere to go!

GET OUT THE HOUSE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!!

So I went for a ride to pick Gran up from church. I didn't get up in time to attend church with them today. I slept kinda late and then chatted with Gerald and had to get breakfast and whatnot. But by the time they were finished--they had a birthday so they have a little dinner after church--I was dressed and able to ride down! The pastor came and chatted with me and we discussed our favorite healing bible verses and surviving medical tragedies and cancer. So it was good to hear some other people's testimony today! It's always a good thing to get a little positivity! They also gave a little bag from the cancer center that had some little goodies in it, so it pays to get out the house!!!

TODAY WAS AN ART DAY BUT....

I worked on one large project today and have the majority of it finished, but I gotta finish it first! It's supposed to be a surprise gift that I'm creating for CLASS since they have been so generous and helpful throughout this whole ordeal. I don't wanna spoil the surprise with a picture yet! But it's coming!!!!
